Sensational Summer Camps

Youth Odyssey is rolling out another great group of summer camps, available to all youths,Summer Camp Blog Post (Brian with Kids) 10-17, in the Corpus Christi area. We’re bringing back the old favorites, as well as introducing a new stunner.

For those of you just jumping aboard, Youth Odyssey is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit on a mission to provide at-risk youth, ages 10-17, with positive youth development through adventure programming. Our summer camps focus on learning valuable life skills, such as teamwork, problem solving, communication and leadership. During our six day long summer camps, campers will be challenged to step outside of their comfort zones in a controlled, learning environment.

Our summer camp line up is as follows:

ScubaJune 13th- June 18th: Delta Camp

Hosted at the Nueces Delta Preserve, kids have the opportunity to learn how to scuba dive, become CPR certified, and fly through the air at our ropes course.

June 27th- July 2nd: Living Local

Learn how to cook with what’s in season, live off the land, and handle a 1,000 pound beast at our summer camp hosted at the National Seashore. We’ll spend our days visiting a local farm, learning how to ride horses, and running our own city garden.

July 13th- July 18th: On the Water

Just as the name implies, campers spend a week learning teamwork and problem solving out on the water Canoe Camp 2014during this intensive canoeing camp. Hosted at the beautiful Martin Dies Jr. State Park, campfires, s’mores, and beautiful days out on the lake are just a few of the amazing experiences ready to be had.

July 27th- August 1st: Nature Explorers

Love the outdoors? Ready to take on a challenge you’ll be bragging about all year? Spend a week with with your home on your back, living out of nothing more than your own backpack! Kids will hike through the Sabine National Forest for three days on the Trail Between the Lakes, setting up camp every night underneath the big Texas sky.

Here at Youth Odyssey, safety is our number one priority. All of our camps are run by experienced and qualified staff with extensive training in CPR and First Aid, Ropes Course Facilitation, Kayaking, Canoeing, Rock Climbing, and Backpacking.
