Spring 2024 Programs

Spring is in the air. The Spring Semester, that is!

Youth Odyssey is looking forward to the busiest spring program line up ever. We’re currently leading 22 Adventure Challenge Programs. This includes our long-established after-school programs at area middle schools: Baker, Browne, Cunningham at Southpark, Driscoll, Gregory-Portland, Haas, Hamlin, Martin, and West Oso. As of this year we are also including after-school programs elementary schools in Gregory Portland ISD at Andrews and East Cliff. We are also continuing our school-day adventure challenge programs, in cooperation with AVID programs and homeschool families affiliated with Homeschool Unlimited Texas. Current AVID partnerships reside at Driscoll, Haas, Hamlin, and Martin. Starting this spring we’ll also be working with the upper-elementary students at Corpus Christi Montessori School. This spring also continues our specialized programming, including our three therapeutic programs with Bayview Behavioral Health and our court-referred program for Nueces County Juvenile Court.

As the weather turns warmer, of course, we’re going to be outside. Our youth leaders are supporting natural resource conservation in our community with beach cleanups at Packer Flats, trail improvement at Blucher Park, and community outreach at Earth Day, Bay Day. We’re currently planning four kayaking trips with our middle school after-school programs. We’re also looking forward to four weekend Adventure Wilderness camping trips, also for our middle school programs. These trips will be visiting Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Guadalupe River State Park, and McKinney Falls State Park. And, most exciting of all, we’re getting ready for our annual Spring Break Youth Leadership Camp. This trip will spend five days camping and exploring Caprock Canyons State Park: Home of the Texas State Bison Herd!

So, yes, we’ve got a lot going on! If you’re interested in getting involved, check out our Leadership Camps page, or reach out by phone or email. Come Adventure with us, because a life outdoors is a life well lived.
