Have you heard!? Youth Odyssey has a new facilitator! We are so happy to have another Texas native on board. She is an adventurer by heart and has been to many different places around the country. Janna has been been with Youth Odyssey for a couple weeks now and we are already seeing how her experience will enhance our programs. We are looking forward to getting to know her even more; and she is very excited to begin her journey with Youth Odyssey! And above all, share her experiences and expertise with youth in the Coastal Bend!
Let’s meet Janna!
Janna has returned to Texas after a decade of work-life adventures, from teaching in the public schools of New York City; to working in mental healthcare in Seattle; guiding students in horticulture therapy activities in Hawai’i; and lastly, to leading garden education programs in Salt Lake City. In summary she is a perfect match for our growing organization. She holds her B.A. in philosophy and english and her M.A. in creative writing from Texas Christian University. She also holds a M.S. in special education from Pace University, and even more she is a Wilderness-EMT and lifeguard.
Janna joins Youth Odyssey in the hopes of teaching the next generation healthy people make a healthy planet. Thus, she is passionate about fitness, nutrition, and creative mindful living. Furthermore, Janna can also be found engaged in outdoor activities and volunteering with local environmental stewardship organizations. She loves to write poetry, play music, quality time with her partner. In addition, she loves playing games with family and friends, and singing enthusiastically to her cats.
