March was the Month of Giving for Jersey Mike’s Subs Nationwide! Every March Jersey Mike’s collects donations for a local cause. Then, on the last day of the month, 100% of every dollar that is spent at local Jersey Mike’s stores is donated to that organization. And they mean 100%, not just profits.
This year, Youth Odyssey was lucky enough to have been selected by the Corpus Christi franchises. We’ve been working with Jersey Mike’s for a couple of years through a variety of avenues. They always support our Youth Leader functions by giving us a box of sandwiches to fuel us as we clean up Blucher Park. We are also monthly patrons of their amazing subs for our Board of Directors meetings. We not only love their sandwiches, we also love their commitment to giving back to the communities they serve.
On March 28th (the day of 100% giving), we had staff members stop by two Jersey Mike’s Stores. It was a mad house during the lunch and dinner rush… but in a good way! Sandwiches were flying off the counter left and right and so were donations! They were offering free t-shirts to anyone who donated $15 or more. They also gave out coupons and triple points to their reward members. We got to speak to people about who we are and what we do, it was a great day.
We are so grateful to have been selected to be their local cause this year! Our friends at Jersey Mike’s are still doing some number crunching so we don’t have an exact number of how much was raised yet! If you keep an eye on our Facebook Page, we will be posting the final amount next week when we get those numbers in. We believe that the outcome will be phenomenal! We also want to give a huge virtual handshake/hug to everyone who donated through Jersey Mike’s. With all the support from our community, Youth Odyssey is definitely feeling the love.
Where does all this money go?
We are so excited to put these funds to good use! The funds will be used to send local teens to our summer camps! Last year about 99% of our kids needed some kind of sponsorship to attend camp. We appreciate everyone who donated at a Jersey Mike's during the month of March and ate a sub on March 28th. Know that your money will help change lives of local teens by giving them an opportunity to attend summer camp.

The Fiesta is our annual summer fundraiser. Money raised at our Fiesta also helps bridge the gap for families who want to send their kids to camp but aren't in a place where it is possible for them financially.
