Meet Our New Team Member, Brad!

As many loyal followers know, our Program Director, Brian, left the team this past December. What you might not know is that Rick (author of our fabulous Outside Scoop blogs) has stepped up and taken over the role of Program Director. That left us the tasks of filling Rick’s facilitator position. Thus the search began and we found our guy. Brad started working with us last week! He’s been nothing but spectacular and he’s bringing lots of new skills to the team like bushcraft (the art of building a shelter in the wilderness while only using what is available in said environment). I had never heard of that but, for ultimate camping and survival experiences it will serve very useful. So, without further ado, I present to you our newest team member BRAD!

Let’s meet the man…

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Brad graduated from Bellaire high school in 2005. As a teen, he spent his summers working as a Camp Counselor for Sports Camp in the Houston/Bellaire area from 1999-2005, as well as taking camping trips with his family all over Texas. After high school, Brad attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas where he majored in Kinesiology and minored in Education. While there, he participated in the intramural sports program and was a flag football champion. Once he finished at Blinn College, Brad attended Houston Community College where he furthered his education by taking a few classes in Criminal Justice. Before Brad came to Youth Odyssey, he worked as a Certified Welder in Houston. He moved to Corpus Christi shortly after Hurricane Harvey to be closer to his family. Brad has a great love for people and the outdoors. He’s CPR certified and his passions are fishing, hunting, hiking, and Bush Craft. When not working, you can always find him out on the water with his father and brother-in-law fishing. Youth Odyssey is excited to see all the great work Brad will do for teens in the Coastal Bend!
