OFFICIAL RULES:

Team Rules:
1. Each team must consist of 2 members.
2. No alternates through out the Race.

General:
No outside assistance is permitted at anytime during the event. Teams are 100% self sufficient throughout the entire event. No support personnel permitted.

This is not a relay event, and thus, all members must travel together through the entire race to remain an official team. Teams must stay within 10 yards of each other at all times and enter and exit Transitions areas together. First infraction will result in a 30-minute penalty and the second infraction will result in disqualification. You must cross the finish as a full team or else you will be not be given an official ranking status.

All racers must wear an unaltered issued bib at all times. Racing bibs must be worn on the outside of all clothing and be clearly visible throughout the event.

Throughout the course, there may be spot checks to verify mandatory equipment. Teams found to be lacking any of the mandatory equipment will be assessed a time penalty by Race Organizers.

Race Organizers have the final say in regards to all issues related to the rules and regulations.

Flagged/Marked Routes:
The course that you must follow will be clearly marked through the use of flagging tape and buoys. These flagged routes are for your safety and violations of course will result in elimination.

Timing:
Race Headquarters will be the official time clock for the competition. The race clock is real time: it begins when the race starts and stops when the last place team crosses the finish line.

The first team in each division that covers the course in the shortest time and crosses the finish line with both team members and has followed all course rules will be declared the overall winner of the event division.

Teams will only be ranked when all members who began the race cross the finish line together having completed the entire course as laid out by Race Organizers.

Transition Points:
Transition Points must be completed in their designated numeric sequence.
Both team members must arrive and depart transition areas together.

Team Withdrawal:
Teams MUST withdraw in the Transition Area (with exceptions to medical emergencies only).
